Guard Alba's origins are in the 1931 merger of a number Northeast heritage preservation concerns including the the Aberdeenshire Castle Preservation Society, the Turriff Castle Collective, Historic Houses of Boddam, Brochs of the Broch, the Kincardineshire House Trust and Historic Tarland.
Guard Alba is Northeast Scotland’s leading independent heritage charity caring for and preserving the historic houses and castles so indicative of the character of our region and of the stories that remind us who we are.
Guard Alba is independent and is not in any way connected to other, similar, organisations such as the Scotia National Trust or Historic Ecosse.
We receive no Government funding and rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters and visitors. If you’d like to donate or leave a legacy in support of our important work please follow the link Support Guard Alba
Some think that Guard Alba is a parody of Conservation Charities. What do you think?
